Navio

Navio is a Ugandan hip hop artist who has been making music since the early 2000s. Known for blending African rhythms with western hip hop, Navio has gained a large following not just in Uganda, but throughout East Africa and beyond.

Early Career:

Before launching his solo career, Navio was part of the popular Ugandan hip hop group Klear Kut. The group released several albums and gained a significant following across East Africa. However, in 2009, Navio decided to go solo and released his debut album "Half a Legend."

Musical Style:

Navio's music features a unique blend of African rhythms and western hip hop. He often uses traditional Ugandan instruments such as the adungu and the akogo in his music, giving it a distinct sound. His lyrics often touch on social issues such as poverty and inequality, as well as love and relationships.

Career Highlights:

• Won Best Hip Hop Artist at the 2013 HiPipo Music Awards
• Collaborated with American hip hop artist Talib Kweli on the song "Warrior"
• Performed at the opening ceremony of the 2017 African Cup of Nations

Navio has had a successful career in East African music and continues to be an important figure in Uganda's music scene.
